Should I ask my teacher to put tapes on my new violin?

Okay so I just got this red silent violin and I'm very anxious to use it. My old violin has tapes on it for my practice so I was just wondering if I should ask my violin teacher to put tapes on my new one as well or if I should just use my new violin without any tape and try practicing without tape every now and then.
