he should respect your relationship enough to let her go. don't feel sorry for her, thats what she wants. is she going to commit suicide just for revenge? some people do indeed. that would be her judgement call. he can't alter his life on the threat of a suicide attempt. find her some help, have her committed, and call it a day.
