Did the outgoing administration drop the ball on regulation, or is this a media spin?

You can't drop the ball on regulation if your policy is deregulation. The idea that Bush and his fellows have dropped the ball on regulation is a media spin to cover up for the disaster that is an intentional policy of deregulation that was part of a specific agenda shift more power into the hands of a few and give the general public less control to protect themselves from the actions of the super wealthy. To say that Bushes administration dropped the ball on regulation, is blatant miss-use of the media and misreporting of the policy of our so called leaders so as to disguise the fact that de regulation is an agenda supported by the corporate media and other big business. People have been greedy and now are trying to say that it was all an accident and that they didn't intend to suck the economy dry buy eliminating government regulations on greedy behavior. People should be outraged and the media should apologize. The corporate environment in America is out of control and threatens national security. To pretend that unchecked greed is not a ticking time bomb threatening to throw us into a revolution, is irresponsible brainwash, that will only bring us closer to the brink of destruction.
